Bank savings mortgage (bankspaarhypotheek)
With a bank savings mortgage you pay interest and additionally save on a blocked savings account linked to the mortgage. That balance repays the loan later.
English Nederlands
How it works
You do not repay the loan itself during the term. Instead you deposit a monthly amount into a linked savings account that earns the same rate as your mortgage interest.
Points of attention
- Since 2013 this type is no longer newly arranged with interest deduction; it mostly exists in older mortgages.
- When refinancing or moving, it matters whether the existing arrangement can be continued.
- Possibilities differ per lender and per personal situation.
Good to know
Options differ per personal situation and per lender. Always have your situation assessed personally.
