How income is assessed
Lenders often look at the average result of the past three years, or use an income statement from an independent expert. Newer businesses can sometimes be assessed after one or two years.
Documents you usually need
- Annual accounts or profit-and-loss statements of recent years.
- Income tax returns and assessments.
- An overview of current business obligations.
Points of attention
- Stable or growing results generally make the assessment easier.
- Large private withdrawals or one-off results can influence the calculation.
- Policies differ considerably between lenders.
Good to know
Options differ per personal situation and per lender. Always have your situation assessed personally.
